Who we are
Checkyourtraders Ltd, a company registered in Malta (company number C96484), is the data controller for ShellForm.mt. ShellForm.mt and ShellForm.mt Properties are trading names, not separate companies. Registered address: 35 Strait Street, Valletta VLT 1434, Malta. Email: support@checkyourtraders.com.
What we collect
- Finishing quotes. Name, email, phone, locality, floor area, purchase stage, optional developer, handover date, standard, the work you need, any plans you attach and your notes. We use them to arrange quotes. With your consent (the box on the form) we share them, for that enquiry only, with Turnkey.mt (also Checkyourtraders Ltd) and with a CheckYourTraders-verified contractor we name in our reply, so they can quote and contract with you directly. Once a contractor quotes or contracts with you, it is responsible for its own use of your details. If you untick the box we reply ourselves and pass nothing on.
- Snagging checklist. Your email and, if you give it, your unit’s stage. We send one confirmation email. We email you about new guides only if you ticked that box.
- Questions to the assistant. What you type, and the page you are on, go through our server to Anthropic, whose AI model reads them to find listings and answer; the reply comes straight back. We do not store your questions. To stop the assistant being abused we count questions per internet connection per hour, using a scrambled fingerprint of your IP address, never the address itself; the count is discarded when the hour ends. The conversation stays in your browser tab until you close it. Please do not type personal details into it.
When you send an enquiry we record which website or app referred you (for example a search engine or AI assistant) and the page you arrived on, to understand how people find us.
Forms are handled by Netlify Forms, and a copy reaches us by email. The lawful basis is your request: you asked us to act on it. For guide emails it is your consent.
What we do not do
- No analytics, no advertising trackers and no cookies.
- Nothing is sold or rented to anyone.
- The calculators run in your browser. What you type into them is not sent to us or stored.
Who else sees it
- Netlify hosts the site and stores form submissions (USA, under standard contractual clauses).
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces; loading them sends your IP address to Google. We intend to self-host the fonts.
- Turnkey.mt serves the rate card the finishing calculators read. It is our own company; loading the file sends your IP address to its host, Netlify.
- Turnkey.mt or a verified contractor, for finishing quotes only and only with your consent, as described above.
- Anthropic reads assistant questions in order to answer them (USA, under standard contractual clauses).
How long we keep things
Enquiries: for as long as we are dealing with them and for two years afterwards. Alert and guide subscriptions: until you unsubscribe. Ask and we will delete your details sooner.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or send it elsewhere. Email support@checkyourtraders.com and we will act on it. You can complain to the Information and Data Protection Commissioner in Malta at any time.
